PROGRAMMER / SOFTWARE DEVELOPER

The Programmer / Software Developer will assist in the design, implementation, testing, documentation, and demonstration of “enhancements” that will enable agent-to-agent interoperability. This is a milestone-driven contract position with the Linux Foundation.

Deliverables include:

  • Contributions as to design, development suggestions for the desired enhancements within weekly virtual one-hour team meetings;
  • The design, creation, testing, and demonstration of software prototypes for the desired enhancements that will enable voice-agent-to-voice-agent interoperability.
  • System-level documentation for each enhancement within the Open Voice Network GitHub repository;
  • Demonstration of each enhancement to OVON team members, with revisions suggested by team and outside reviewers.

Requirements of this position include:

  • Working familiarity with collaboration tools—GitHub, Slack, Zoom, Google Workspace.
  • Five years working with operating systems/development systems/programming languages.
  • At least two years of experience developing voice agents (including speech recognition, speech synthesis, dialog management, and natural language processing).
  • Experience integrating existing software modules and systems and demonstrating the resulting system.
  • Experience designing, writing, testing, documenting, and demonstrating code using Rust or other development environments.
  • English-language communication (speak, write) skills, and the ability to work with an international team of designers and developers.

DATA SECURITY SPECIALIST

The Data Security Specialist will advise, guide, and serve as a primary author/editor for the development and delivery of the Open Voice Network (OVON) Security Capabilities Report v2.0 Document.

Deliverables include:

  • Evolution of the v1.0 to a version 2.0 with an emphasis upon specific "what" and "how” guidance to enterprise practitioners and users of voice assistance in an interoperable world.
  • Evaluation of the voice assistance ecosystem (on-device, cloud, web, IOT, etc.), advising the Open Voice Network Privacy & Security Work Group on 1) existing laws/standards/guidelines that exist and are applicable, and 2) gaps that must to be addressed through the establishment of industry-wide security guidelines.
Requirements of this position include:
  • 4+ years of prior relevant experience.
  • Advanced certification in Information Security, Risk, or Audit certifications preferred. Examples of preferred: CISSP, CISA, CISM, CASP, etc.
  • Demonstrated working knowledge of industry best practices, e.g. NIST, OWASP, ISO/IEC 27002, etc.
  • Advanced understanding of TCP/IP, common networking ports and protocols, traffic flow, system administration, OSI model, defense-in-depth and common security elements.
  • Experience in analysis of complex security issues and the development and engineering activities to help mitigate risk.
  • English-language communication (speak, write) skills and the ability to work collaboratively with a remote global team.

SYSTEM ARCHITECT / DEVELOPMENT ENGINEER

The System Architect / Development Engineer will assist in the design and development of an envisioned Voice Registry System. This is a milestone-driven contract position with the Linux Foundation.
Deliverables include:

  • Design, code, deploy, and test a Voice Registry System prototype.
  • Develop and document a cogent, holistic system architecture that represents the end-state vision of the Open Voice Network. Such a system architecture would be used to communicate the vision of OVON to external decision-makers (both business and technical) and internal OVON stakeholders.

Requirements of this position include:
